Our Family Dinner Book Club theme for the year is Celebrations! This month we’re celebrating Earth Day with Alba and the Ocean Cleanup by Lara Hawthorne. To accompany this themed dinner menu, Growing Book by Book has a reading list of additional books as well as talking points to get the conversation started. Sunny Day Family shares a selection of crafts to help celebrate.
Alba and the Ocean Cleanup is a book about a fish who’s home is becoming more and more polluted. So she sets out to cleanup and reclaim her home. This book is a great reminder about how important it is to take care of our earth. For our Family Dinner Book Club this month we’re headed to the ocean to visit and care for Alba’s home!
While we’re out for our beach picnic, we’re going to make sure we’re packing our foods sustainably. Reusable food and drink containers are an easy way to reduce waste. Fruits like bananas and apples don’t even need to be transported in containers because they come in their own packaging!
