Our Family Dinner Book Club selection for the month of September is Dominic by William Steig. Here you’ll find a menu that can be prepared with the help of your children, and will hopefully be a fun and interactive activity for the whole family. Head over to Growing Book by Book for some talking points to get the conversation started as well as an idea for a family service project. Then visit Sunny Day Family for a fun craft. We invite you to share a picture from your dinner with us anytime during the month on our Family Dinner Book Club Facebook page.
Dominic is a dog who craves a life of adventure. One day, he sets out with his nap sack meal of a sandwich, an apple, and a cookie. He says goodbye to all his neighbors and begins his journey to find adventure. He certainly does find adventure and we get to learn all about it throughout the pages of this fun book.
Dominic is all set with nap sack lunch, but every adventurer needs a big hearty breakfast, and that’s what I have here today. This can be a breakfast to start the day and fuel your body for a day full of adventure, or it can be a celebratory meal to end the day and help recharge your energy.
I think Dominic would love to sit down to this big breakfast spread with a bunch of friends and tell the tales of his adventures, while also hearing the stories from others.
