I love watermelon! It is so fresh, crisp, and sweet. What could be better? One of our favorite summer outings is to go to the farmer’s market and get a huge watermelon aqua fresca. Sometimes we’ll get two because the girls can polish one off all on their own. We go to David’s parents’ house for lunch every Sunday and Gigi always has some fresh watermelon for us to snack on. Last Sunday, Abby and Katie drank the leftover juice from the bowl after we were finished eating! This fruit plays a big role in our home when it is in season, as I’ll bet it does in your home, too. It’s just too delicious. Naturally, when we find something delicious we have to eventually add alcohol to it, right? Right. Of course. So here you go. Frozen Watermelonade. Fresh watermelon… that you freeze yourself, so fresh frozen? Plus some lime juice and your favorite rum. You could go with vodka if you’d prefer, but rum is just such a summer drink so that’s what we’re using here. Blend it all together and you have yourself a tasty frozen adult beverage that is perfect for summertime! What is your favorite summertime beverage?
P.S. You can absolutely leave the alcohol out of this and have a nice all ages drink to serve at any party!
