Teamwork Stew Menu - Family Dinner Book Club - ChefSarahElizabeth.com

Our Family Dinner Book Club trait for the month of January is Teamwork, and our lead book is Swimmy by Leo Lionni. Here you’ll find a menu that can be prepared with the help of your children, as well as festive table decorations. Head over to Growing Book by Book for a full reading list of books about teamwork. Then visit Sunny Day Family for family activity ideas. We invite you to share a picture from your dinner with us anytime during the month on our Family Dinner Book Club Facebook or Instagram page.

I am so excited that this year’s Family Dinner Book Club is all about character traits instead of focusing on one single book each month. This is only the first book club of the year and it has already been a creative challenge! A challenge I welcome, but one I wasn’t fully prepared for. Our lead book is Swimmy, but there is also a whole list you can choose from to read with your family.

I landed on Teamwork Stew for our menu because we are currently in the middle of winter, perfect soup weather! This stew is filled with vegetables, so everyone in the family – or on the team – has a job to do! Vegetables need to be washed, chopped, and added to the pot. If you grow your own vegetables or visit a U Pick farm, even better! This stew cooks in the slow cooker so you can get it all set up in the morning and spend the day working on your tablescape together, or any other family activity you choose to do.
