Over the years, David and I have been becoming more socially and environmentally conscious. We strive to make a difference in our world through our acts, our relationships with our children and friends, our donations to worthy causes, and our spending habits. It is a fact of life that we have to spend money to live. One change that I personally have been making is that I have been trying to only give my money to B Corporations. Or at the very least, for B Corporations to make up the bulk of my spending.
What is a B Corporation? Straight from the uncommongoods site: “The B seal means that a company has met the standards outlined in a comprehensive screening questionnaire, which evaluates a company on issues ranging from providing a living wage, to lessening their impact on the environment, to giving back to the community.”
Another fact of life is that I am a terrible gift giver. Finding the perfect gift for anyone on my list is incredibly stressful for me. I want it to be meaningful, I want them to love it, and these days I want it to have a positive impact on the world. How pleased was I when Uncommon Goods stepped into my radar?! Now, I can buy all my holiday gifts and birthday gifts from Uncommon Goods!
