I Carried a Watermelon – Dirty Dancing

Watermelon Champagne Pops from ChefSarahElizabeth.com

I have participated in Food ‘n Flix Club a few times, been following them for about a year now, and now I get to be host! I get to choose the movie and post a roundup here at the end of the month. I wanted to host for the month of July because it is my birthday month! I wanted a good party movie, and I also wanted an 80s film because I am an 80s baby. 10 guesses as to what age I’m turning this year…

Heather and I emailed back and forth a few times so she could help me narrow down my choices. I started off with a list of about 20 movies and slowly whittled it down to Dirty Dancing, Back to the Beach, or Risky Business. I carried a watermelon and decided I wanted to have the time of my life this month. So Dirty Dancing it is! Put on your prettiest party dresses, learn a few dance moves, carry a watermelon, and join us for a fun Food ‘n Flix viewing of Dirty Dancing. Keep on scrolling to learn how to participate, and scroll even further for a Champagne Watermelon Pops recipe!

    • I definitely would not consider it a “foodie” movie, which is actually part of the reason I chose it. I wanted the challenge. I have watched it 3 times this week looking for inspiration for my own contribution!
