Chocolate Chocolate Chip Coffee Shake – Coffee Klatch

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Coffee Shake recipe from ChefSarahElizabeth.com

Coffee Klatch: a social gathering for conversation while drinking coffee.

Let’s drink delicious coffee and gab about our lives! Our current topic is Gilmore Girls as we are re-watching the entire series leading up to the release of A Year in the Life on Netflix!

Gilmore Girls
Season 2 Episodes 8 through 22

-Apple cider ice cream sounds delicious, and that does look like a nice ice cream maker!
-Of course Paris chooses “classic Shakespeare” for their drama interpretation. Ugh Tristan is still the worst. But also, Dean is kind of a whiner and gets upset easily. I do feel bad for Tristan. I think he’s a good guy who just acts like a bad guy for attention. Or because he’s unhappy and insecure. Poor kid.
-The Bracebridge Dinner! So fun. I want to throw a massive dinner party that shuts down an inn in a snowy town. And carriage rides for everybody! Rory’s smirk when she sees the snowman Jess destroyed… uh oh!
-Haagen Dasz chocolate chocolate chip milkshakes when the girls go spend the night at Sookie’s because of termites. This is already one of my favorite brands of ice cream, and it was the inspiration for today’s recipe. I added coffee to the mix because I think the girls would totally approve! So scroll down to find my Chocolate Chocolate Chip Coffee Shake recipe! Serves two, or one if you’re feeling greedy like I was when I made and shot this. I want to have this milkshake with french fries.
-Sookie and Jackson are getting married! I mean, if a man pays $290 for the pretzel goat cheese basket you made for him that he passed up while sulking, you basically have to marry him.
-I don’t really care about Christopher. I don’t want Lorelai to end up with him. I’m glad he’s in Rory’s life, but whatev.
-I’m still not sure about Jess. He’s maybe kind of trying to be a good guy. The bad boy facade is just a defense. My sister-in-law made a good Jess observation. He’s a good guy who’s just making some bad choices. Even if we like him, we shouldn’t date him while he’s making bad choices. This is how she explained Jess to her teenage daughter, and I am on board with that interpretation.
-Lorelai and Emily stealing robes to bond!!
-Poor Dean!!! He’s a little too moody and everything, but he’s so heart broken when he realizes Rory is pulling away from him. The scene where he’s sitting on the porch and says to Lorelai, “she likes Jess, doesn’t she?” Ugh poor kid.
-Rory and Jess in the car accident. I am so scared for the days when our kids make bad choices and get hurt. Ugh. Luke and Lorelai’s resulting fight? So sad. Then Luke disappearing?! Wow, he was really upset.
-Rory ditched school and took a bus to a strange town to go visit Jess! Ay yi yi child! Then she misses Lorelai’s graduation. But then she feels so guilty, and even though Lorelai is so hurt, she understands and supports Rory in her confusion. Such a great mom!
-Lorelai’s graduation! Such a nice moment with her parents. Awwwww
-Sookie’s wedding. Lorelai and Christopher! Jess comes back! Rory kisses Jess! Sherri is pregnant! That was such a good season finale! I would be going crazy if I had to wait an entire summer for a new season. I’m going crazy waiting 1 day.

What were your favorite moments from this week’s episodes? What were the most cringe inducing?

  1. You’re right, the girls would TOTALLy approve – pass me a tall one! Yeah, Dean really went through some whiney moments, didn’t he? I get it, and I still like him…but the little bit of bad boy has always drawn me in. I totally would have dated Jess. 😉 And I do like how they make all of the guys likeable in some way (even Tristan).

  2. I’ve liked all the sweet moments between Lorelai and her parents this second season. Lorelai asking her mom about which veil to wear, the fashion show, helping her dad set up his office and the graduation. The finale is so packed! I love Sookie and Jackson. Christopher always ends up hurting Lorelai, ugh. Jess is back and everything is complicated!
