Coffee Klatch: a social gathering for conversation while drinking coffee.
Two years ago, I binge-watched Gilmore Girls on Netflix and simultaneously became addicted to coffee. Prior to that I had never been much of a coffee drinker. I would have my weekly Starbucks caramel macchiato, the occasional bottled frappuccino, or the when-in-Rome espresso. I didn’t need or want the caffeine so I only consumed these beverages for the sugar and frivolity. While watching Gilmore Girls, however, I so badly wanted to be a Gilmore Girl myself that I started trying all different kinds of coffee daily, sometimes twice daily. Okay let’s be honest: sometimes thrice daily. David declared me heavily swayed by media and I would not say he was wrong.
I cut my caffeine intake way back while trying to get pregnant, and then completely eliminated the habit during my pregnancy. I did enjoy the occasional caramel macchiato in my third trimester when I was just completely exhausted all the time. Now that Henry is here in the world, I am drinking coffee more frequently, but still watching my caffeine intake due to breastfeeding.
With the impending return of Lorelei and Rory, I thought now would be the perfect time to get back into the coffee addiction. I did some very difficult calculations and figured out that if we begin today, and watch two episodes per day, we can watch the entire Gilmore Girls series before the premier of A Year In The Life. Yay! So let’s do this. Together.
We will be watching two episodes per day (or 14 episodes each weekend!) and meeting here every Wednesday to discuss all the residents of Stars Hallow and whatever else is happening in our lives.
Join me here, on Snapchat, and Instagram to consume copious amounts of coffee and chatchatchat.
Oooooh, fun idea! I’ll admit that while I’ve seen tons of GG episodes, I didn’t watch it when it was originally out, so it’s been sporadically through syndication. I’d love to start at the beginning.
That was me before it came out on Netflix two years ago. Bandwagoners unite! Netflix is perfect for becoming crazed fans of shows and movies long after they’ve had their heyday.
