Sparkling Rosy Margarita

Sparkling Rosy Margarita recipe from chefsarahelizabeth.com

It is Cinco de Mayo! That prompted my fried, Hola Jalapeno, to launch Margarita Week on her blog and the blogs of many others across the internet. How sweet of her to provide you with all the margarita recipes you’ll ever need, right?! Check out her site for the full listing of recipes and so many other latin recipes to help you celebrate this day.

For my contribution, I wanted to take the classic margarita and give it some sparkle, because everything is better with sparkle! First things first, margaritas must be made with freshly squeezed citrus juice. Fresh is best! So get out your muscles and get to juicing some limes and oranges. Next, I had seen this frozen lemonade which had rose water added to it and I immediately had to go out and buy some to experiment with. It adds a floral sweetness… basically exactly what your nose takes in when you stop and smell the roses, but this time on your tastebuds, and mixed with some other fruity and sweet ingredients.

I topped it all off with some champagne, because as we agreed a minute ago, everything is better with sparkle! Enjoy!
